We Are The Birmingham Blitz Dames!

Fast paced. Full contact.

We play a fast-paced, full-contact, competitive sport. We aim to put athletes on both the national and international stage. To achieve that goal we take our sport seriously; we skate fast, hit hard and challenge each other on the track.

Skater owned. Skater run.

We are proud to be a grassroots, democratic league. Everyone from the newest member to our international veterans has a vote and a say in how the league is run. Being a member of the Blitz Dames doesn't just mean being a sportsperson, it also means being part of a community of great people who work together to make something we're proud to be a part of.

Part of the roller derby revolution!

Since modern roller derby began sweeping the globe in 2001, it's been promoting female athleticism like no other sport in the world. We're proud to be a part of that revolution. We bring women into the roller derby community (and occasionally men, too) from all backgrounds, sporting or non-sporting, and we train athletes. We love what we do and we believe there's nothing else quite like it.

UKRDA

The Birmingham Blitz Dames are proud to be founding members of the United Kingdom Roller Derby Association (UKRDA).

The UKRDA is recognised by the British Roller Sports Federation - the National Governing Body for roller sports - as the UK's national association for roller derby. Roller derby was recognised as an official sport in the UK after hard work by the UKRDA and leagues around the country.

The UKRDA is run by skaters from leagues across the UK and provides members with support, links to other leagues and access to a wealth of information about the sport. They work to develop and represent roller derby nationally, as well as supporting all UK roller derby leagues (regardless of whether the leagues are UKRDA members yet or not).

The Blitz Dames encourage other roller derby leagues in the UK to join the UKRDA so we can grow our sport together!
